So who is managing the public relations for Alibaba.com? Who is the executive that is taking no action to stop the trade of shark finning on Alibaba.com? Without further ado I would like to introduce Porter Erisman, Vice-President of Corporate Marketing.
What does Mr. Erisman say about the company he works for:
"We're in a phase where Chinese companies are beginning to think with a longer-term perspective. People are starting to see that operating in a good, ethical and well-mannered way helps you survive in the long term."
And what does he say about the fact that shark fins are traded on Alibaba.com:
"To be up front, I don't expect any change to our policy. It is not a question of whether or not we are "for" or "against" shark fin trade. We just don't see our role as an arbiter on this issue."
